Wow! What drama! But honestly, when I heard that Sony had been hacked, threats were made and it resulted in the pulling of the film I got scared. The threat of a global cyber war aside the film pricked my curiosity.

I’ve realised I can be highly sensitive . I support freedom of speech ... As long as it is not provocative and does not deliberately HURT anyone. It's a touchy issue but I think we can all respect each other's opinions and agree to disagree if you must. After all what is life without healthy debate.

Politics aside, I needed to see what all the fuss was about so one evening my sister, a friend (Hi B) and I sat down blankets and all to watch this movie.

One word: HILARIOUS!!!!!!

The film was funny. Actor 2 had me in stitches the whole time. As a Brit I felt his character accurately portrayed the stereotype of the typical american. From a non- american point of view (don't hurt me guys). His lack of worldly knowledge (outside of his own state) and his naivety and materialism resonated well with my observances of american culture. I loved it. His caring nature (cute dog anyone) and willingness to give anyone the benefit of the doubt also struck a chord. 5 stars from me!

The alpha male wash kinda woman. Her entrance into the movie on a plane in the mountains was awesome and may I add she was stunning to watch! I repeated ' man she's hot' over and over ( much to the annoyance of my guests, sorry guys). And when she picks up the machine gun and shoots threw the wall killing all of the shoulders on the other side ... I wanted to be her! The all powerful woman!

Comedy aside, I could see why one could find offence at the film. I am in no way a supporter of the authorities that occur in North Korea but the film really really took artistic license in portraying his character? ... Would Americans be happy if Obama was portrayed in the same light?

That being said, I don't think the film targeted anyone specifically as the cultural stereotypes of both Americans and North Koreans were explored in a comedic way and I thoroughly enjoyed the film.

Have any of you watched? If you have let me know of your thoughts I would love to hear your opinions. Xx
